History

Samsun, which was connected to our railway network in 1926, started construction of samsun port in 1954. Toros Port was commissioned in 2005, Samsun Port was privatized in 2008 and Yesilyurt Port started its service. Samsun has a great logistic potential as the gateway of Anatolia to the Black Sea.

With the congress held for the first time on 5/6 March 2009 at the social facilities of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, the establishment of a logistic village in Samsun was brought to the agenda. With the 2 congresses held on May 27, 2010, a working group was commissioned for Samsun Logistic Village project. Strategic steps have been determined in line with TR-83 Logistics Master Plan submitted in December 2010 prepared in cooperation with Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Special Provincial Administration, Samsun Municipality, OKA Central Black Sea Development Agency. In order to become the logistic center of the countries in the Black Sea region, the railway and road infrastructures on the north-south line have been completed and the Master Plan has been prepared with the objective of connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea and the Middle East via the Samsun-Mersin line. The Lojistik Samsun Logistics Village Project ılan initiated by provincial institutions as of 2011 has emerged as a product of these efforts.

With the feasibility study of Samsun Specialized Logistics Organized Industrial Zone dated March 2012 prepared after the master plan; An application has been prepared in order to effectively utilize the new budget facilities provided for Samsun in the Regional Competitiveness Operational Program (RCOP), where the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology is the “Operating Structure“.

Samsun Logistics Center project has been entitled to negotiate as the only major project with the highest budget and it is a great success with 45.000.000 Euro budget.

In February 2016, the construction of Samsun Logistics Center project started. It has started its activities as of November 2017.
